About this guide
A practical guide to Christmas in Budapest for visitors from abroad: the markets with their dates, how the city works in December, and what things cost. Published by a company that has a stake in exactly one attraction on this site — and says so on every page where it appears.
What is here, and what is not
- All 13 markets are plain catalogue entries: name, place, dates, opening hours, entry, one factual sentence and the organiser's official link. We do not rate them, we do not give them stars and we do not rank them against each other.
- Every organiser link was called automatically on 21 September 2026 and had to answer with HTTP 200. Entries whose official page could not be reached are not in this guide.
- Dates for the 2026/27 season are officially confirmed for 0 of the 13 entries. Every entry without a confirmed date carries the note “2026 dates not confirmed yet” together with last season's dates — we do not copy an old date forward as if it were new.
- Prices for food and drink are what stalls typically charged in the 2025 season. Stalls set their own prices, so treat them as a range, not a promise.
Who publishes this
The publisher is DECOLED s.r.o., a Czech family business that has been making festive lighting since 1997. One thing follows from that and you should know it:
- DECOLED operates the Story of Lights light parks, one of which is in the garden of the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, about 30 km north-east of Budapest. That park has its own page here and is marked as ours on every page where it appears. It is the only attraction on this site we earn anything from.
Everything else — every market, every square, every organiser — belongs to someone else, is listed for information only, and is not promoted.
About the photographs
Every photograph on this site was taken at our own light park at Gödöllő. We do not publish photographs of other people's Christmas markets, and we do not publish AI pictures of places that do not look like that. Each caption says what you are looking at.
Found a mistake?
A wrong date, a changed price, a dead link? One line to [email protected] is enough — we correct it and reset the check date.
